‘Cad Goddeu’ (‘The Batlle of the Trees’) has recently had its first showcase performance at the Ffwrnes Theatre, Llanelli, and was well-received by all. With a blend of classical elements and traditional storytelling, this exciting new work aims to bring the long-sung stories of ancient Britain to contemporary audiences. With a huge help from the Arts Council of Wales, Theatrau Sir Gar, and from People Speak Up, Brian and Ceri hope to take this work as far and wide as possible.

"As far as I have researched, this may be the world's first opera that includes traditional storytelling as central to the performance. The storyteller drives the narrative, with the musical elements swirling behind, eventually bursting forth to allow the audience into the world before time - into the sea of trees! Working on this has been one of the great honours of my life" - Ceri J Phillips, Storyteller
