We are thrilled to have Eric Ngalle Charles and Suzanne Griffiths-Rees join the People Speak Up team, to help us create a programme that support our community.
Eric and Suzanne will be our new project co-ordinators working in Llanelli and Carmarthen, as well as across our community.
They will be using their decades experience of working in the arts, participation and passion for arts and creativity to support our communities here in West Wales.
Eric Ngalle Charles is a Cameroonian born, Wales based award winning writer, poet, playwright and human rights activist. AND a Dr of philosophy in Creative Writing, King's College London, 2026.
Eric has been to PSU for a number of events including Unity last year.
Eric said, "Ever since I was invited as a guest artist for People Speak Up, in 2018, I fell in love with the organisation and what it does. As someone who specialises in literature and trauma, how the former can be used to overcome the latter. I found the space welcoming, and safe. It feels great to be working for PSU, the organisation represents everything I stand for. People First."
Suzanne Griffiths-Rees is a musician from North Pembrokeshire. She worked for the Arts Council of Wales for 25 years as a Development Officer, dealing with arts organisations across Wales and beyond, mostly involved in Music and Arts and Health. She holds a degree in Electro-Acoustic Composition from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
As well as having taught piano privately for upwards of 35 years, she sings in two choirs locally and enjoys live music of all genres. Her hobbies include playing darts competitively, making music, singing and enjoying good food.
Suzanne says about joining PSU: "I am incredibly excited to work for People Speak Up. I have first-hand experience of how the organisation works through my work in Arts and Health with the Arts Council of Wales. It will be great to be part of an organisation that delivers the arts to a wide range of participants, and seeing the benefits that it brings, first hand. I feel very lucky to be part of this dynamic team."
Eleanor said, "Exciting times ahead for us at PSU. Both Suzanne and Eric bring their passion for People, The Arts experience and partnership working to our PSU community.’
We will be announcing more team news updates in the next few weeks.
