Stories On Prescription
Stories on Prescription was a 6 month pilot project exploring ways in which storytelling workshops improve participants' mental health in our community. Read about the impact this project had with our participants and community in the full report:
Arts Boost
Working with CHAMS, Arts Boost supported young people who had been referred to us at PSU to use creativity to help support health and wellbeing.
The project was for children and young people in west Wales who were known to the Specialist Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service (S-CAMHS).
It was a joint project between S-CAMHS service, arts and health team, and three arts partners, Span Arts in Pembrokeshire, Small World Theatre in Ceredigion and us.
Arts Boost is part of a national arts and mind programme, supporting health boards across Wales to improve mental health. It is funded by the Baring Foundation and the Arts Council of Wales.
Summer of Fun
The Summer of 2022 we ran free family friendly workshops across Llanelli in partnership with Llanelli Town Council, Carmarthenshire Council and Street Play. We brought with us scooters, Arts and crafts, football, badminton, open play, balance bikes, chalk fun, chatting and lots of storytelling.
Voices of Tyisha
On the 16 August we invited our Tyisha ward community to come to the Siarad Pod to listen to our community. We encouraged conversations, and listen to their voices and opinions about what they want from their community. We also brough family fun outdoor activities bringing the community together to capture and amplify their voices.
Gwyl Cymru Festival
As part of the Welsh Football Association and cultural programme in 2022 we created an intergenerational space for the Llanelli Football community to share stories from 1958 and write a new story for 2022.
Working with professional passionate storytellers, writers and poets in Welsh and English to create unity through sport & the Arts.
A project funded by The Arts Council of Wales - Gwyl Cymru Festival
Creative Warm Cwtch
Supported by Local Giving and the National Grid we ran our first Creative Warm Cwtches, a time and place to support vulnerable adults who need social and financial support. The sessions are aimed at those who live in isolation and want to e engage, as well as supporting local people in our community who struggle with heating costs during the winter months.
