Care Share Connect Pembrokeshire
Working in partnership with Pembrokeshire Storytelling / Straeon Sir Benfro and funded by Enhancing Pembrokeshire – Pembrokeshire County Council. Using oral storytelling to connect Pembrokeshire residents through delivering friendly, inclusive community storytelling events, active learning workshops and one-to-one storytelling to those isolated / unable to travel.

During October 2023 – March 2024, PSU received an ACW Create grant to develop the Creative wellbeing programme at People Speak Up, Llanelli’s arts health and wellbeing hub - a time and space for the community to creatively connect and find their voice through storytelling, spoken word, creative writing, digital arts, visual arts, volunteering and creative conversations.

Creative Home Delivery Service is an arts and health home delivery service for older people living in Carmarthenshire who are currently receiving, or are at risk of needing, domiciliary care. The project is led by People Speak Up (PSU) and supported by Carmarthenshire Council, Hywel Dda Health Board, Connecting Carmarthenshire, Pobl and Nacro and aims to improve mental health, wellbeing and physical health, and to reduce loneliness and isolation by providing creative activities in the home.

In early 2020 we had just launched our new stories by doorstep, reaching older people in rural parts of our community in Carmarthenshire. This was in partnership with Carmarthenshire United Support Project. But in March 2020 we transferred this project to the phones in response to COVID 19.
