As part of Get creative we will be working in collaboration with Straeon Gwaun/ Fishguard Storytelling as part of Get Creative and make a difference, a commission from Voluntary Arts Wales.
Pembrokeshire Story Share and Care is a participatory arts project delivering a range of creative activities including storytelling, poetry and spoken word. This new collaboration will help us to extend our services to Pembrokeshire. We aim to engage with isolated older people, carers, those living with dementia and older people experiencing poor mental health. We are very excited to be working with Fishguard Storytelling/Straeon and meeting all involved.
“Reminiscence, autobiographical storytelling, traditional stories, myths and legends all connect people with each other, those around them, their past and the present.”
If you would like to get involved please email: info@peoplespeakup.co.uk or call 07972651920
Fishguard Storytelling/Straeon Gwaun is a small community group dedicated to promoting the art of oral storytelling and providing opportunities for people to get together to share stories. Pre-covid the group ran very popular monthly storytelling-and-music events with floor spots and guest storytellers from across Wales for the benefit of the community, and storytelling skills/improv workshops to provide opportunities for people to develop their storytelling skills in a supportive environment. Straeon Gwaun aims to be inclusive and welcoming to all and to help keep the tradition of oral storytelling alive and well, bringing people together to benefit from sharing stories and meeting others.
